St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is here and I was going to write about the truth behind the mythology of this day. I was thinking about how St. Patrick was not even Irish and how he was not the first to bring Christianity to Ireland and how driving the snakes out of Ireland is probably a metaphor for destroying their indigenous culture (the snakes being a representation of their old religion and all). But then I realized that it does not really matter who St. Patrick was, it matters who he has become now; a great excuse to wear green, drink beer, and celebrate Ireland. Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody! If you are still interested in reading about the real history of St. Patrick and the holiday, links are below.
